Grand Goals for 2017

The title lies. There ain’t anything grand in this post.

I don’t really set New Year Resolutions. I’m not any more likely to stick to my decisions just because I made them at the beginning of the year. So yeah, no resolutions from yours truly. But I thought I’d do a quick recap of 2016 and provide an equally quick outline of my tentative plans for this year.

2016

Personal:

2016 had its ups and downs for me. Just like every other person, I imagine. Technically, there was more good stuff than bad. To be precise, there are only two specific matters that I’d consider ‘bad’ enough to be worthy of mention. The rest was all good (though I’m glad I don’t live in the US because this year would be a hella lot worse then). Unfortunately, both of those things are the sort that’s going to haunt me for a long time even though the worst is over.

Well, that wasn’t vague at all. Anyway, moving on…

Blog:

It’s been six months since D Talks Anime has been up and running, and I have to say that I’m pleasantly surprised to find myself more in love with blogging than ever before. I’m not the most active blogger and until recently, I only posted once a week. But still, the amount of recognition I’ve received – though it’s nothing compared to most others out there – makes me ridiculously happy. I’m more grateful that I can adequately articulate to my fellow bloggers. You guys are great.

2017

Personal:

  1. Get my Bachelor’s. This should be easy unless I totally bomb my final semester. I really hope that won’t happen.
  2. Get into a certain college I’ve been salivating over for my graduate course. This will be harder since academia is poisonous pit but I’ll try my best.
  3. Put on some muscle. My arms and legs are fine but my stomach is pitiful. I want defined abs, is that too much to ask? Get your shit together, D!

Blog:

  1. Post more and faster. I’ve got 5 shows left from 2016 to review. I need to speed up.
  2. Try to add more variety to the content.
  3. Make time to find and read more blogs.

Well that’s it. Reasonable goals, right? Here’s hoping I can stick to them.

I’m totally with you on New Years resolutions. If you want to do something, there’s no need to start on Jan 1.

Those are some great personal goals regardless. I wish you all the best with your educational pursuits, but you’re a bright guy so I’m not worried 😀

It’s been a lot of fun talking about anime with you in these few months I’ve followed your blog. I hope there’s a lot more than that no matter how much or how fast you post content.

Exactly. No matter when a decision made,it’s up to each person and their circumstances whether or not they can keep it. Though I can see how the ceremony of doing it on New Year might appeal to a lot of people.

Haha thank you! Your faith in me is greatly appreciated.

Same. It’s been great reading your reviews and discussing shows with you. Here’s to another good year then.

Haha..no I think those are very reasonable goals indeed. I hear you on the speed of posting things. I myself am currently a bit on a slower run than usual. But that really has a bit of reason, one that will hopefully resolve itself somewhere in the coming few days. Lets just say that my mood is a bit pre-occupied at the moment, so my usual love for blogging is just a bit deminished (haha, I guess I am not being vague either lol….moving on haha 😂😂). Goodluck with achieving all your personal goals..I hope you will all achieve them. I will continue to look forward to reading your posts, and exchanging thoughts. Keep up the great work 😀

We are the monarchs of vagueness. But hey, it’s usual to hit points like that at times due to a number of reasons. Good luck with whatever is on your mind! I hope to see you back in the groove soon.

Thanks, buddy. Talking to you is always fun, as I’ve said before, and I look forward to it as well 😀

I can relate with wanting more variety. I’ve been trying to add some myself over the last few months, but there’s always space for more 🙂

Tell me about it. New sem’s just started and it’s already trying to ruin us. As for the abs, let’s just say that I feel the burrrn.

      Thank you!
