Overview:
Staz and his siblings join Fuyumi with the help of Bell’s magic. Staz accidentally drinks her last energy drink but sustains her with his blood instead, which Braz deems unwise in the long run. Speaking of Braz, he seems oddly sinister around Fuyumi. He does take a sample of her magic – which involves stripping her top without her consent which is not funny and also unnecessary – and leaves soon afterwards. Liz stays behind.
However, Braz seems way more interested in Staz’s magic that’s mixed in with Fuyumi’s. He even had a nice maniacal laughter session over it.
As for Liz, she’s more tempted to indulge in cute things away from the brother she wants to impress. She’s still shy and sad though, the latter of which is because Braz told her not to return home until he told her to. Her purpose here is to keep Staz away from interfering Braz’s work in his lab. That’s not suspicious at all.
Staz introduces Liz to anime and later, Fuyumi bonds with her over bathing together which we all know is the best way for forming lasting friendships. Though in all seriousness, those scenes were kinda sweet, especially when Liz confesses to Fuyumi that she’s always been lonely. Fuyumi promises to stay by her because she’s made of sugar and everything nice, no spice.
But Fuyumi disappears in the middle of the night, leaving behind a note that’s obviously fake. All hints point to the culprit being a new character – some blond boy in a hoodie. Staz is angry at himself for not paying attention to Fuyumi when it counts.
Liz, upset at Fuyumi’s absence, reveals that Braz put a tracking device on her while taking her magic sample. She wasn’t supposed to tell Staz about this though. Staz requests that she go and find out more from Braz. He even offers to give away his whole collection of human entertainment for it but Liz is willing to help without any of that, won over by barely a day of love and kindness…or something, I assume.
She thus takes off. Soon after, Staz receives a clue about hoodie boy and chases after it.
Thoughts:
Not much happened this episode but there’s a lot of focus on the characters. Braz seems to be always up to something and I don’t think it’s unreasonable to think that his priority at the moment is not helping Fuyumi.
Then there’s Liz who majorly changed her tune this episode. Till this point, she’s been blindly loyal to Braz. Her words indicate that this may have been due to necessity rather than genuine love. And it is nice to see her bond with Fuyumi, and Staz to a lesser extent, but I don’t quite buy how quickly it all happened. She was with them for how long? Half a day? That’s a really quick change of heart.
But whatever.
A couple of bloggers have told me that we won’t get all answers to what Braz is doing this season. It’s a given that Fuyumi won’t be resurrected either. All the same, it’s an enjoyable story. I won’t ever like it a whole lot but it’s more than tolerable.
So I basically binge watched Diabolik Lovers and Blood Lad last night. Beware of comments!
Braz does make for an interesting character. I think this episode sold his appeal to me with his evil laughing session.
Yeah….did you really have to strip a ghost, Braz, though? A lot of fanservice in this show, I must say.
Liz bondinf with Fuyumi was sweet. And damn, omurice whenever you want it? Pretty sweet deal!

I love them comments!
He single-handedly livened up this show when it was sliding into my shitlist. Way to go, buddy. Except the stripping.
And yep, though it’s rather unobtrusive.
Liz was sweet, period. (I’ve never eaten that

Braz is the true hero. Move over, Staz.
Amen to all of the above (try to secure some in the future. It’s pretty good. And this is coming from a guy who only finds eggs to be okay)

Japanese cuisine is pretty much non existent in my parts but I’ll keep an eye out for it.
