As with the last episode, I’ll skip the recap and dive right into commentary. There was a lot going in this season finale and not all of it makes complete sense yet. But damn if it wasn’t a wild spectacle.
This week, we’re back to the crazy over-the-top action with charged emotions that’s characteristic of Attack on Titan. Needless to say, I loved it.
This week’s Attack on Titan gets a little wild and I’m still not sure whether that’s good or not.
Opening is another episode that’s all talking and no acting but this one’s got more depth to it than the last episode.

Compared to the last six episodes, Close Combat is very straightforward. Eren and Reiner face off in their titan bodies and it seems to be going well until it all goes to hell in typical AoT fashion. It’s glorious.
So. Who saw that coming? ‘Cause I wouldn’t have had I not been spoiled even before I read the manga.
